A fantastic turnout of over 50 delegates attended the TPS East Midlands Autumn event, which focussed on all that is good about cycling.
Four excellent presentations from Lynn Sloman (Cycling England / Transport for Quality of Life), Stan Werbinski / Mark Smith (Derby City Council), Andy Salkeld (Leicester City Council) and Jo Ward (Sustrans), provided the context for the wider discussions which focussed on a range of topics included a better understanding of past performance of cycling investment, and where the future funding would be best placed.
Kindly hosted by the University of Leicester, and organised by the East Midlands TPS Chair Jon Parker (ITP), the event has stimulated a great deal of positive feedback, with those attending using words such as ‘excellent’, ‘inspirational’, ‘informative’ and ‘fun’ to describe the event.
Members of ACT Travelwise, CIHT and CILT and ICE provided an additional and useful dimension to the discussion.
Here’s to the next East Midlands event in 2011.
