Our overall aim is to raise the profile of transport planning in the North West and to provide a focus for transport professionals in terms of sharing best practice, highlighting new initiatives and policy developments, and providing networking opportunities. We also hope to stimulate and contribute to debates on key contemporary transport planning issues.
We work closely with the TPS's supporting Institutions (ICE, RTPI, CILT(UK) and IHT) to provide a forum for bringing together people from these bodies with a direct interest in transport. We also work with other sectors where relevant (e.g.health, education and economic development), to highlight the wider context for transport planning.
The NW Committee has recently organised an e-survey of transport professionals in the region. This has provided invaluable information on future priorities for TPS activities and events.
